Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah"
Written in Nov 2020
Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah" or Beautiful Indonesia in a Miniature Park is an amusement-educational park where you can learn about Indonesia or just spend some time outside with your friends and family.
The park is anything but MINI. This park accommodates full-scale traditional houses for each of Indonesia's provinces as well as many other attractions across its 100 ha (size of 142 soccer fields!!!), so it is better to plan in advance what you want to see.
The park is old and arguably needs some renovation(build in 1975), but the top attractions (e.g. main houses and bird park) are in relatively good condition.
COVID ALEART: If you visit over the weekend, buy tickets online as the numbers of visitors is limited during Covid

(Attractions that are Open during covid, Nov 2020)
You can also do these activities WITH your children (as I did) :-)
Find a small group of friends or family, book in advance a Taman Mini tourist guide (see below) and embark on a 2 hour tour with explanations about the Indonesian houses from each part of the archipelago - Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, Bali, Papua, etc. It's like traveling through the whole of Indonesia without leaving Jakarta. You will learn so many interesting facts! And the houses have been dismantled from their original place of construction and rebuilt in Taman Mini so all are authentic. Amazing!
